Automotive Sensor Functions

Automotive Sensor Functions 📝

1- MAP Sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor)
Measures the air pressure inside the intake manifold and sends the signal to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to adjust the air-fuel ratio.

2- MAF Sensor (Mass Air Flow Sensor)
Determines the amount of air entering the engine to ensure an ideal fuel mixture.

3- O2 Sensor (Oxygen Sensor)
Measures the oxygen level in exhaust gases to optimize fuel combustion efficiency and reduce emissions.

4- Crankshaft Position Sensor
Detects the position and rotation direction of the crankshaft to adjust ignition timing and fuel injection.

5- Camshaft Position Sensor
Measures the position of the camshaft to synchronize valve timing with ignition.

6- Intake Air Temperature Sensor
Measures the temperature of the incoming air to improve fuel combustion.

7- Coolant Temperature Sensor
Monitors the coolant temperature and sends signals to the ECU to adjust engine performance and activate the cooling fan.

8- Knock Sensor
Detects any knocking or vibrations inside the engine and alerts the ECU to prevent potential damage.

9- Air Filter Sensor
Ensures the quality and cleanliness of the air passing through the air filter.

10- Fuel Pressure Sensor
Measures the fuel pressure within the injection line to guarantee the correct supply to the engine.

11- Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor
Monitors the temperature of exhaust gases to ensure proper catalytic converter function and prevent overheating.

12- Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
Determines the throttle valve opening angle to adjust engine power and fuel response.
